This month Geo-Environmental Scientist, Max Smeeth, visited The Geological Society at Burlington House for the annual Janet Watson Meeting: The Future of Contaminated Land Risk Assessment.
The two day Conference explored emerging science, technologies and guidance in the contaminated land industry, told from the viewpoint of all key stakeholders: the site owner, consultant, contractor and regulator.
Conference themes were as follows:
⦁ Innovative investigation and risk assessment
⦁ Understanding, managing and communicating risk
⦁ Emerging remediation technologies
⦁ New guidance, standards, accreditation and the evolving role of the regulator
The varied programme included workshops, an expert panel discussion and presentations by speakers from a number of backgrounds.
Max was pleased to have attended and reported that it was ‘very informative’. Max will be sharing key points with the CE Site Investigation Team over the coming months.
